Devardi Rod - Transparent Yellow Gold is a 104 COE soft glass rod made from transparent yellow-gold colored glass. It is produced as full-size lampworking rod designed to be worked directly in the torch for beads, small sculpture, and decorative components. This color is chosen when you want a warm, light-transmitting golden yellow that stays bright and luminous, making it useful for sunny accents, layered transparent work, and encasing effects that add warmth without turning the design opaque. It is commonly used for amber and honey palettes, golden highlights, transparent overlays for depth, and building glowing yellow tones that remain visually open and dimensional.

How it is used:

Preheat the rod gradually at the edge of the flame to reduce thermal shock, then heat to a smooth working glow and apply by winding onto a mandrel for beads or by gathering and shaping for small sculptural forms. For clean transparency and to preserve the golden tone, work in a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame and avoid heavy reduction that can darken or muddy the color. Use the rod as a base color, as striping, or as a transparent overlay for layered depth, then bring the piece to an even heat to smooth and finalize the surface before annealing with a schedule appropriate for 104 COE soft glass.
