Devardi Rod - Transparent Yellow Green is a 104 COE soft glass rod made from transparent yellow-green colored glass. It is produced as full-size lampworking rod designed to be worked directly in the torch for beads, small sculpture, and decorative components. This color is chosen when you want a bright, light-transmitting yellow-green that stays visually open and luminous, making it useful for layered transparent work, encasing, and building depth without turning the design opaque. It is commonly used for spring-green accents, botanical palettes, and transparent overlays that add brightness and dimension over darker base colors.
How it is used:
Preheat the rod gradually at the edge of the flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring it to a smooth working glow and apply by winding onto a mandrel for beads or by gathering and shaping for small sculptural forms. For clean transparency, work in a neutral to slightly oxidizing flame and avoid heavy reduction that can darken the surface. Use the rod as a base color, as striping, or as an overlay for layered depth, then bring the piece to an even heat to smooth the surface before annealing with a schedule appropriate for 104 COE soft glass.
