Description:

Disposable Acid Brush Pack is a set of small, inexpensive utility brushes made with a metal ferrule and stiff bristles on a simple handle. These brushes are designed to be used with chemicals, adhesives, oils, and compounds where you do not want to risk contaminating a good brush or where cleanup is not worth the time. In lampworking and general glass studio work, disposable acid brushes are commonly used for applying bead release to mandrels, brushing on kiln wash, spreading small amounts of glue or epoxy, applying polishing compounds, and cleaning dust or debris out of tight areas. They are especially useful because they can be trimmed to a custom bristle length for more control and then discarded when the bristles become contaminated or stiff.

How it is used:

Dip the brush into the material you are applying and use light strokes to coat the surface evenly. For bead release, stir the release first, then dip the mandrel and use the brush to smooth drips or touch up thin spots before drying. For kiln wash, brush on thin, even coats and allow each layer to dry before firing. For adhesives or polishing compounds, apply a small amount and spread it where needed, then discard the brush when it becomes dirty or starts shedding. Trim the bristles with scissors if you need a shorter, stiffer brush for detail work.
