Fairy Dust is a jar of high temperature flakes designed to refract light with a dichroic-like effect when worked into hot glass. Each jar contains 1.5 grams of material, with particle sizes ranging from 100–2000µ. The Northern Lights colorway is described as refracting shimmering pinks and greens. It is compatible with 104 COE, 96 COE, and 33 COE glass, making it a versatile additive for both soft glass and borosilicate lampworking.
How it is used:
Use Fairy Dust as a surface effect or inclusion while the glass is hot enough to accept the flakes. Roll or gently press the hot gather or bead surface into a small amount of Fairy Dust, then melt it in smoothly with a neutral flame to reduce scorching or burning the effect. For best control, apply in thin layers and fully encase when needed to protect the finish and improve durability on wear items like pendants or beads.
