These are fingerless heat-resistant gloves made with Kevlar fiber, designed to protect your hands while keeping your fingertips free for fine control. The knit Kevlar construction helps resist heat and abrasion better than common cotton gloves, and the fingerless cut is meant for tasks where you need to feel small parts, pick up thin rod, or manipulate tools without losing dexterity.
Wear these during lampworking and general glass studio work when you want light hand protection from incidental heat, sharp edges, and abrasion while still needing fingertip sensitivity. They are especially useful for handling warm tools, moving hot or recently-warmed glass at the bench, and doing setup or teardown around torches and kilns where you may brush against hot surfaces. They are not a substitute for proper eye protection, ventilation, or purpose-built high-heat gloves for direct contact with very hot glass or hot shop work.
