Description:
This bead release is a liquid coating applied to mandrels before lampworking to prevent finished beads from bonding permanently to the mandrel. It is formulated to create a thin, even barrier that holds up under torch heat and supports clean bead removal after cooling. The 4-ounce size is a convenient quantity for testing a new release, stocking smaller studios, or keeping a fresh container at the bench for consistent dipping and smooth coatings.
How it is used:
Apply bead release to a clean mandrel by dipping the mandrel into the liquid and withdrawing it slowly to create an even coat. Allow the coating to dry completely before introducing it to the flame. As you make the bead, keep the release out of the direct, intense flame to reduce cracking and maintain a stable core. After the bead is fully cooled, gently twist and slide it off the mandrel. If needed, soak the bead briefly in water to help soften remaining release, then rinse and dry the bead before cleaning out the hole.
