Description:

Glass Pro Solder is a premium 60/40 tin-lead solder alloy specifically formulated for stained glass work, copper foil projects, and decorative art glass applications. The 60% tin and 40% lead composition creates a solder with excellent flow characteristics and strong joint strength, making it superior to 50/50 solder for glass art. This 1-pound spool is packaged in convenient form for easy handling and storage. The solder melts at approximately 190 degrees Celsius and creates smooth, reliable bonds when used with proper flux and soldering iron technique.

How it is used:

- Wrap each piece of glass with copper foil or lead came to create a solderable surface.

  • Apply flux to the joint area where the copper foil or lead came pieces meet.
  • Heat the joint with a soldering iron at approximately 350 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Feed the solder into the heated joint, allowing it to flow smoothly and create a strong bond.
  • Begin soldering approximately one quarter inch from the edge of your piece for best results.
  • Create smooth, beaded solder lines along all joints for both strength and aesthetic appeal.
  • Allow the solder to cool naturally before handling the finished piece.
  • Use for copper foil technique projects, lead came assembly, and reinforcement of glass structures.
