Item Name:
Kashmir Rod - Army Green
SKU:
KR-ARMYGREEN
Description:
Kashmir Rod - Army Green is a colored glass rod made for flameworking, produced as a solid rod of consistent diameter intended to be melted in a torch flame and applied to compatible base glass. This color is used when you want an earthy, muted green tone that reads as a classic army green in finished work. Rod form makes it easy to control heat, placement, and amount of color, which is especially useful for building up surface decoration, creating clean stringer lines, and adding accents without contaminating your clear or base colors. This type of color rod is commonly used in lampworking for beads, small sculptural components, and blown work where controlled color application is important.
How it is used:
- Preheat the rod tip in the outer flame to reduce thermal shock before bringing it into the hotter working flame
- Melt the rod tip into a gather and apply it directly to the work for dots, bands, and surface wraps
- Pull stringers from the rod for fine linework, scrollwork, and detailed patterning
- Use as an accent color over clear or other compatible base colors, then smooth and shape with gentle heat
- Apply in layers and lightly marver to blend transitions for shaded or dimensional color effects
- Use small amounts for sculptural details such as leaves, stems, military and outdoor themed accents, and muted decorative elements
