Description:
This is a medium-grain frit made from transparent light amethyst Effetre glass in 104 COE. Frit is crushed glass that is sized into consistent particles so you can add controlled color and surface patterning without having to pull stringer or apply full rod. Light amethyst is used when you want a softer purple tone that stays transparent, making it a strong choice for delicate shading, layered color builds, and designs that you plan to encase for depth and clarity. It is typically applied to a warm bead or small gather, then melted in and can be left as surface texture or fully smoothed before encasing.
How it is used:
- Warm the bead or gather until the surface is tacky, then roll or lightly press into frit to pick up an even coat.
- Melt the frit in gradually to help reduce trapped air and keep the color placement clean.
- Apply lightly for subtle speckling and shading, or apply heavier for more complete color coverage.
- Encase with a compatible 104 COE clear after the frit is melted in to create depth and help keep the design crisp.
