Silver-plated bails are decorative metal findings designed to hold glass pendants and focal beads. These medium-sized bails are constructed from a base metal with a bright silver plating that resists tarnishing. The bail features an open loop at the top for threading chain or cord, and a pinch or glue-on design at the bottom to secure finished glasswork. Medium bails are ideal for accommodating glass pendants ranging from 10mm to 25mm in diameter. They are used after glasswork is complete and fully annealed, allowing lampworked pendants, fused glass pieces, and other finished glass focal beads to be transformed into wearable jewelry without requiring drilling or additional glass manipulation.
How it is used:
- Apply a small drop of epoxy or glass-specific adhesive to the bail's glue-on surface
- Position the finished, annealed glass pendant securely into the bail
- Allow the adhesive to cure completely per manufacturer instructions
- Thread chain, beads, or cord through the top loop to create a finished pendant necklace
- Use for lampworked beads, fused glass pendants, dichroic glass pieces, and other decorative glass focal beads
