Item Name:
Mini Ball-Holding Claw
SKU:
CLAW 9
Description:
The Mini Ball-Holding Claw is a handheld glassworking claw tool with looped metal ends and a wooden handle. The looped tips are shaped to cradle small round hot glass pieces while the claw grips from the outside of the work. It is used when you need controlled handling of beads, small marbles, and other curved forms during shaping, detailing, and transfer, especially when a straight tweezer tip would slip or leave marks. The claw opens wide enough to capture small work securely while still giving you access for flame work and final finishing.
How it is used:
- Use the looped ends to gently capture the outside of a small round hot glass piece such as a bead or marble.
- Rotate and reposition the piece while keeping it supported on the curved loop tips.
- Use the claw as a temporary holder during shaping, minor touch-ups, or when moving the piece between tools.
- Keep the tool out of the direct flame as much as practical to reduce heat transfer into the handle.
- Release the piece smoothly once it is stable on a punty, mandrel, or resting surface.
Dimensions:
- Claw opens to 1.5"
- Approximately 9" Long
