Moretti Black Metallic Transparent is a soft glass color rod made by Effetre in a transparent black tone with a metallic look when worked in the flame and layered in the right thickness. It is manufactured as solid cane and pulled to a consistent rod diameter so it can be heated directly in a torch for lampworking. This color is used when you want a darker transparent that can add depth, shadow, and contrast while still allowing some light transmission, making it useful for dimensional overlays, dark transparent striping, and layered designs where you want a richer look than a standard transparent gray or smoke.
How it is used:
- Preheat the rod gently in the back of the flame, then bring it up to working temperature before making contact with your base glass.
