This is clear Effetre Moretti soft glass stringer pulled to a fine working size for detailed flame-work. Stringer is made by heating compatible clear glass and pulling it down into a consistent thin cane, giving you a small diameter piece that heats quickly and can be applied with very controlled placement. Clear stringer is used when you want to add detail without adding color, such as building up subtle raised lines, adding a clear cap over surface decoration, or creating clean encasement accents on small soft-glass work.
How it is used:
- Preheat the tip in the outer flame to reduce thermal shock and keep the stringer from snapping.
- Trail thin clear lines over the surface to create raised texture, scrollwork, or crisp borders that stay neutral.
- Use as a light encasement layer over dots or fine decoration when you want to soften edges and add optical depth.
