Moretti Dusty Lilac Rod is a soft glass color rod made for torchworking and beadmaking. It is manufactured as a solid, round cane that you heat in a surface-mix or premix flame, then shape, apply, or pull down into stringer. Dusty Lilac is typically chosen when you want a muted purple tone that reads softer than a saturated violet, making it useful for florals, sculptural accents, and gentle color transitions in beads and small soft-glass components.

How it is used:

• Warm the rod slowly at the far end of the flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring it up to a working heat.
• Use the molten gather to wind glass onto a mandrel for beadmaking, or apply it as surface decoration over a base bead.
• Pull the heated glass into stringer for fine linework, scrollwork, and detail.
• Use as a casing or overlay color in small sculptural lampworking where a subdued purple is desired.
