Description:
This is a solid, colored soft glass rod made for flame working and beadmaking. It is pulled into rod form at the factory, then cut to workable lengths for studio use. How it is used:
- Preheat the tip of the rod in the outer flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring it up to a working glow.
- Wind molten glass onto a mandrel to build bead shape, or apply it onto a compatible soft-glass base as a layer or casing color.
- Pull stringer from the rod for fine linework, scrollwork, and small decorative details.
