Moretti Lavender Pale is a transparent lavender soft glass rod from Effetre, made as solid cane for beadmaking and soft glass flameworking. This is a light, airy purple that stays translucent, making it a strong choice when you want color with depth rather than a flat opaque surface. In lampworking, pale transparent purples are often used for gentle shading, floral and atmospheric palettes, and layered work where you want to see light travel through the glass.
Supplied as rod, it is intended to be worked directly in the torch for winding and shaping, and it can be pulled down into stringer for fine decorative lines. This color is especially useful for encasing over lighter cores, softening high-contrast designs, and building subtle transitions when you blend or layer it with other transparent colors.
How it is used:
- Pre-warm the rod in the outer flame to reduce thermal shock, then bring it up to a smooth working heat
- Wind onto a mandrel for transparent bead bases with a soft lavender glow
- Layer over white, pale pastels, or silvered surfaces to create depth and gentle color shifts
- Pull into stringer for delicate scrollwork, floral linework, and transparent dot patterns
- Use as a light encasing or overlay color when you want to soften contrast while keeping transparency
