Description:
This is a 6 inch diameter nickel plated diamond wheel manufactured using SW Diamond Products proprietary diamond plating process. The diamond abrasive is electroplated in a nickel bond onto the wheel body, creating a consistent cutting surface with long wear life. A 260 grit wheel is used when you need a finer finish than a 180 grit wheel, typically after shaping is complete and you are focused on removing smaller scratches and refining the surface before moving on to pre-polish and polish steps. In glass work, it is commonly used for coldworking tasks such as smoothing edges, refining contours, and improving surface finish on lampworked components, fused glass pieces, and other glass parts that need controlled, even abrasion.
How it is used:
- Use with water as coolant to control heat and flush away glass swarf.
- Use light pressure and steady movement to avoid creating flat spots or heat checks.
- Use after coarser wheels to remove their scratch pattern and refine the surface.
