Description:

This nickel plated diamond wheel is manufactured using SW Diamond Products proprietary diamond plating process to produce a long-lasting, high quality abrasive cutting and grinding surface. A 180 grit wheel is used when you need controlled, medium-coarse material removal for shaping and truing glass, smoothing cut edges, and doing early-stage coldworking before moving on to finer grits for refinement and polish.

Grit size is 180 and wheel diameter is 4".

How it is used:

  • Mount the wheel on the appropriate lapidary grinder or arbor and verify it runs true before bringing glass to the surface.
  • Use with water to cool the glass and wheel, reduce chipping, and carry away grinding swarf.
  • Apply light, steady pressure and keep the glass moving to avoid flat spots, heat buildup, and edge bruising.
  • Use this grit for shaping and smoothing after a saw cut, then step to finer grits for a cleaner finish.
