Description:
This nickel plated diamond wheel is manufactured using SW Diamond Products proprietary diamond plating process to produce a long-lasting, high quality abrasive cutting and grinding surface. A 60 grit wheel is used for aggressive stock removal when you need to shape glass quickly, true up edges, or remove heavy saw marks and deep surface damage before moving on to finer grits. This grit is typically an early step in a grinding sequence, followed by progressively finer wheels to refine the surface for pre-polish and polish work.
Grit size is 60 and wheel diameter is 4".
How it is used:
- Mount the wheel on the appropriate lapidary grinder or arbor and verify it runs true before bringing glass to the surface.
- Use with water to cool the glass and wheel, reduce chipping, and carry away grinding swarf.
- Use light, controlled pressure and keep the glass moving to minimize edge chipping and avoid digging grooves into the work.
- Follow with finer grits to remove the coarse scratches left by a 60 grit wheel before polishing.
