Description:
The Nickel Plated Diamond Wheel 6" Grit 80 is a diamond grinding wheel made with a proprietary nickel plating process that bonds diamond abrasive directly to the wheel surface. This style of construction creates an aggressive cutting wheel that removes material quickly while maintaining a consistent cutting face as the diamonds wear. A grit 80 wheel is used in the early stages of coldworking glass when you need fast stock removal but want more control and a cleaner grind than very coarse wheels. In lampworking and flameworking studios, this type of wheel is commonly used after cutting or breaking down glass to true up edges, flatten small surfaces, and shape components before moving on to finer grits for smoothing and pre-polish.
