Origin Bright Blue Frit (F) is a fine-grade frit made from crushed and screened colored borosilicate glass for lampworking. Fine frit is made up of smaller particles, which makes it ideal when you want smoother coverage, quicker melt-in, and more even color distribution across the surface of your work. Bright Blue is a strong, vivid blue that is commonly used for high-contrast accents, bold surface color, and layered designs where you want a clean, saturated blue that reads clearly through clear encasement or over lighter base colors. Fine frit is especially useful for controlled placement and for building color without adding much thickness.
How it is used:
- Keep the frit in a frit tray or shallow dish to make pickup clean and consistent.
- Heat the target area of your piece until it is evenly tacky, then lightly roll or dab the hot glass into the frit.
- Reheat gently to seat the particles, then melt in fully for a smooth finish or partially for a light texture.
