Origin Cola Frit (S) is a small-grade brown glass frit used for adding warm, earthy color and speckled surface effects in lampworking and other torch-based glasswork. Small frit is made of particles that are larger than fine frit but smaller than large frit, giving you a balance between smooth melt-in and visible texture. It is a practical choice when you want controlled coverage that can be melted in clean, left slightly textured for a natural look, or layered under clear for depth. Cola tones are especially useful for warm neutrals, wood and stone palettes, animal and character work, and shading where you want brown that can read lighter or darker depending on thickness.
How it is used:
- Heat the glass surface until it is evenly tacky for consistent frit pickup
- Roll or dab the hot glass into the frit to apply a light dusting or heavier coverage
- Melt in fully for a smoother finish, or melt in lightly to keep more texture
- Encapsulate with clear to deepen the color and protect the frit layer
