Origin Electric Blue Frit (F) is a lampworking color frit made from crushed and screened glass. The frit is sorted into a fine particle size so it gives very fast, even coverage and melts in with minimal texture, making it ideal for smooth color fields, gentle gradients, and detailed surface work where you do not want chunky definition. Fine frit is typically chosen for thin, controlled applications, for blending with other colors, and for work that will be fully melted in and possibly encased for a clean, polished finish.
How it is used:
- Warm the piece in a neutral flame and bring the target area to a tacky, slightly glossy heat.
- Lightly roll or tap the hot glass into the frit for controlled pickup, then gently reheat to set the frit without boiling the surface.
- Melt the frit in fully to create a smooth skin, then shape as needed before adding additional decoration or encasing.
- Use multiple light layers instead of one heavy layer for cleaner color and more predictable results, especially on small details.
