Origin Jade Green Frit (F) is a fine-grade glass frit in a jade green color, produced by crushing compatible colored glass and screening it down to a very small particle size. Fine frit is used when you want the most even coverage and the smoothest melt-in, with minimal surface texture left behind. In lampworking, it is a go-to choice for subtle color shifts, soft shading, and clean, uniform surface color on beads, pendants, marbles, and small sculptural work, especially when you want the frit to behave more like a “dusting” of color than a distinct, speckled pattern.
How it is used:
- Lightly warm the surface of your bead, blank, or gather until it will accept frit without slumping your shape
- Roll or gently dab the hot glass into fine frit for a thin, even pickup
- Spot-apply small amounts with a frit spoon or tweezers for controlled shading and fades
- Heat gradually to tack in place, then melt in fully for a smooth surface finish
- Layer under clear for depth while keeping the surface clean and easy to polish
