Origin Jade Green Frit (S) is a small-grade glass frit in a jade green color, made by crushing compatible colored glass and screening it into a consistent small particle size. Small frit is chosen when you want smoother coverage, tighter speckling, and more controlled melt-in than you get with medium or large frit. In lampworking, it is commonly used to quickly introduce surface color, soft mottling, and layered depth on beads, pendants, marbles, and small sculptural work, especially when you want the color to read evenly without large, chunky inclusions.
How it is used:
- Warm the surface of your bead, blank, or gather until it is tacky
- Roll the hot glass through frit to pick up an even, fine coat
- Use a frit spoon or tweezers to place frit in specific areas for pattern work
- Gently heat to tack the frit in place, then melt in smoothly for a more uniform finish
- Layer under clear for added depth and a cleaner surface feel
