Origin Lime Green Frit (L) is a large-grade glass frit in a bright lime green color, used as a surface-applied color accent in flameworking and other glassworking processes. Frit is made by crushing compatible colored glass into graded particles, giving you a fast way to add texture, speckling, and concentrated color without pulling stringer or mixing custom blends. The large particle size is especially useful when you want bold, distinct “chunk” placement, heavier color buildup, or a more organic, broken-up look across the surface of a bead, pendant, marble, or small sculptural work.
How it is used:
- Roll a warm gather, bead, or blank through frit in a frit tray to pick up an even coat of particles
- Spot-apply frit with tweezers for deliberate placement and patterning
- Gently heat to tack the frit in place, then fully melt in to the level of texture you want
- Use as an accent layer under clear for depth, or leave slightly raised for a more textured finish
- Combine with other frit sizes or powders to build gradients and more complex surface effects
