Description:

The Roman Numeral 3 Image is a decorative dichroic square image designed to be kiln-fused into glass work for a crisp, high-contrast Roman numeral “III” detail. This style of image is typically made as a thin dichroic-coated glass element with the design created as a surface image layer, allowing it to be captured cleanly under a clear cap or fused between layers for depth and durability. It is used when you want a precise, repeatable graphic element without hand-engraving, painting, or complex coldworking.

How it is used:

  • Warm the base glass and tack-fuse the image in place to prevent shifting during the full fuse.
  • Cap with a compatible clear layer to fully encase the image for a smooth, durable surface.
  • Use in pendants, earrings, cabochons, or small inlay panels where a readable numeral detail is needed.
  • Fire using a schedule appropriate to your glass system and project thickness, then finish with a controlled anneal.
