Shady Glen Frit Blend is a pre-mixed soft glass frit assortment packaged in a 2 oz jar. The blend is constructed from a mix of opaque and transparent frit in a coordinated palette of greens with white and dark grey, giving you a ready-to-use color recipe without having to weigh and mix separate frit colors. This type of frit blend is used in lampworking when you want fast, repeatable surface color and organic patterning on beads and small components, and it is also useful for adding mottled, nature-inspired color breaks in kiln-formed work.

How it is used:

• Roll a warm bead or gather through the frit to pick up an even coat, then melt in for a smooth surface or leave slightly textured for a speckled look
• Use light heat to tack frit in place, then bring the piece up to temperature to fully encase or smooth the application
• Layer the blend over a base color to shift the palette and create depth with transparent and opaque contrast
• Use small pinches in targeted areas for controlled accents, trails, and spot color
• For kilnforming, sprinkle or place frit as a surface layer to create blended fields of color and soft transitions
