Shamrock Blasting Stencils are single-use vinyl sandblasting stencils designed to create sharp-edged shamrock imagery on glass. Each sheet uses a water based adhesive that is made for easy removal by soaking in water, and the stencils come with an instructional sheet. The layout includes multiple shamrock sizes on one sheet, with the larger images at the top of the sheet measuring about 0.75 inch to 1 inch in height and width, plus proportionally sized medium, small, and very small images below. These are used in coldworking and finishing when you want repeatable, crisp etched designs on finished pieces, blanks, ornaments, panels, or scientific and decorative glass items.
How it is used:
- Clean and dry the glass surface so the stencil adhesive bonds evenly
- Apply the vinyl stencil to the glass and press down firmly to seal edges and prevent blast undercut
- Mask off surrounding areas as needed, then sandblast to the depth and frost level you want
- After blasting, soak the piece in water to release the water based adhesive and lift the stencil cleanly
- Rinse and dry the glass, then continue with additional blasting, enameling, or finishing steps as desired
