Description:
Skull Blasting Stencils are single-use vinyl resist stencils designed for abrasive blasting on glass and other smooth surfaces. Each stencil sheet uses a water based adhesive that holds the pattern in place during blasting, then releases cleanly with a simple water soak for easy removal. The skull design features sharp-edged artwork intended to produce crisp, high-contrast etched imagery when used with sandblasting equipment. The stencils include an instructional sheet, and there is a three sheet minimum purchase requirement that can be met by mixing designs.
How it is used:
- Clean and dry the glass surface so the stencil adhesive bonds evenly
- Apply the vinyl stencil to the glass and press firmly to seal edges and prevent blast media from creeping under the pattern
- Abrasive blast the exposed glass areas to create an etched skull design with sharp edges
- Remove the stencil by soaking the piece in water until the adhesive releases and the vinyl lifts away
- Rinse and dry the piece, then continue with additional finishing such as polishing or coldworking if desired
