Description:
The Small Chunky Bicones are graphite shaping molds designed for lampworkers and beadmakers to form molten glass into distinctive bicone-shaped beads. These molds feature three cavity sizes measuring 14mm x 25mm, 15mm x 30mm, and 16mm x 35mm, allowing you to create chunky, faceted bicone beads in a single pressing motion. The graphite construction withstands repeated heating and cooling cycles while providing excellent release properties for finished glass beads. Bicone shapes are popular in jewelry design and decorative beadwork, offering a geometric aesthetic that catches light beautifully.
How it is used:
- Heat molten glass on a mandrel using a lampworking torch until it reaches a workable temperature.
- Press the hot glass bead into the selected cavity of the mold, applying gentle to moderate pressure to shape the glass into the bicone form.
- Allow the glass to cool slightly before removing the finished bead from the mold.
- Repeat the process with different cavity sizes to create varied bead dimensions for jewelry and craft projects.
