Description:
This Small Sphere Machine Cutter Cup Set is a matched replacement and upgrade set of cutter cups made for use with the Covington Small Sphere Machine. The cutter cups are manufactured at the Covington facility and are used as the working contact surfaces that cradle and drive a workpiece while it is ground in grit slurry. Fresh, properly sized cups help maintain accurate geometry, consistent rolling action, and even material removal, which is critical when you are bringing a rough preform into a true sphere for marble restoration or precision sphere work. This set includes two each of the following cutter cup sizes: 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 5/8 inch, and 7/8 inch.
How it is used:
- Select the cutter cup size that matches the sphere size you are grinding.
- Install the cutter cups on the Small Sphere Machine according to the machine instructions.
- Run the sphere through the grit slurry bath so the cups roll and grind the workpiece evenly.
- Replace worn cups when you notice slipping, uneven tracking, or slower cutting action.
