Description:
This stainless steel hose clamp is a worm drive style clamp designed to secure flexible hose to barbed fittings and hose nipples in torch and shop setups. The stainless band wraps around the outside of the hose, and the screw housing tightens the band evenly so the hose grips the fitting without slipping.
In lampworking and glass shop use, clamps like this are most commonly used anywhere you need a dependable, adjustable seal on small diameter hose, such as oxygen or fuel gas lines, cooling water lines, or other shop air and utility tubing. A properly tightened clamp helps prevent leaks, hose blow-off, and inconsistent gas delivery that can affect flame stability.
How it is used:
- Slide the clamp over the hose before pushing the hose onto the fitting.
- Push the hose fully onto the barb or nipple so it seats completely.
- Position the clamp over the barbed section of the fitting.
- Tighten the screw until the hose is firmly secured and cannot rotate or pull off by hand.
- Recheck tightness after initial use, especially if the hose material compresses slightly.
