TAG Blu-V Rod - Firsts

Overview

TAG Blu-V is a Trautman Art Glass borosilicate color that looks nearly clear in normal light, with a faint blue cast, then fluoresces a bright blue under UV.

It’s a versatile “effect clear” that can be worked as a clean base, used for subtle tint, or pulled into stringer for UV-reactive linework that stays crisp and readable.

Why this color

Blu-V is popular because it gives you a strong UV payoff without looking heavily colored in everyday lighting, so it layers cleanly into modern, high-contrast designs.

It also plays well as an accent over clear or darker colors, letting you add hidden detail that only shows up when the piece hits blacklight.

Best uses

• UV-reactive accents, dots, and linework that glow blue under blacklight
• Clean bases and overlays where you want a near-clear look with a subtle tint
• Stringer work for crisp detail on beads, pendants, and small components
• Layering with other UV colors for contrast and multi-reactive effects
