Tape Flames Blasting Stencils are single-use vinyl stencils designed for sandblasting or paint masking on glass. Each stencil sheet uses a water-based adhesive that holds securely during blasting or painting, then releases cleanly with a water soak for easier removal and less risk of tearing or leaving stubborn residue on the surface.
This design features a strip of flame patterns arranged in a linear layout, making it well-suited for wrapping around cylindrical work such as cups, tumblers, vases, and ornaments, or for adding a continuous border element to flat or curved pieces. The stencils include an instructional sheet, and the product is sold with a three-sheet minimum, allowing you to mix designs while still meeting the minimum quantity.
How it is used:
- Clean and dry the glass so the stencil adhesive bonds evenly
- Apply the stencil and burnish it down to seal edges and reduce undercutting during blasting
- Sandblast the exposed areas to create a frosted, etched flame pattern
- For paint work, use the stencil as a mask, apply your paint, then remove after the paint sets
- Soak the piece in water to release the stencil for removal after blasting or painting
